Range - Sognefjell

How often are you out of range with your mobile? OK, London's underground and then not so often. My phone is all day long quiet, only me to compare the time with my "atomic" watch. Then on on that Thursday all my friends, as I have so many, tried to reach me and guess what? I was out of range, I had cycled that afternoon Sognefjell, first stage of it as I recognised next morning.
Exhausted, though refuelled with irreplaceable strawberry jam found a hut, abondened one, 1200+m above sea level, where the floor was in places missing and one side of the hut giving up to the elements. Next door shed full of wood with adjacent latrine offering magnificent view over mountains, where in the morning clouds as milk rolling over tops. Not to mention that crispy fresh air. Superb.
The cast iron stove remained me my one from my room in the attic.
Folding saw became once more useful tool, providing me with a crate of wood. Which in exchange brought warm and cosiness to that hut.
Stroll, some 1/2 a mile down the road to the local rest place where warm water in abundance.
Felt like I had mountains only for myself,  is that selfish?
Morning breakfast....baked beans:-)

Strawberry jam and...

This part of Norway is hard, which one is easy then, many hills are pedal on granny gear though velocity at the other side of mountain/pass is awesome therefore my average cruising speed keeps decent level. At some point I managed to do my Personal Best and reached downhill speed of almost 80km/h.
Hills and rocks, we when you climb with my speed you can easily remember every each rock by name.
It is magnificent feel, when cycling along the rocks  which radiate afternoon heat , superb:-)
Food, my favourite so far is a jam, though what a jam - strawberry one:-) .
Taste of tinned mackerel in tomato souse, will stay in my memory for a long time.

More of Norway

For a while I have been enjoying Norway,  a rainy ride and forgotten shelter where I smoked myself and belongings, magnificent views  over the mountains and people.
Special thanks to Ronnie for his understanding travellers needs and can of energy drink which fuelled my ride through Vikafjell.
Special thanks to Evjen, who let me enjoy the free stay at Djuvik Campsite and mostly for your effort to drive up with my wallet when I left it behind and extra mile to fetch me bottle of water.
Last but not least, to group of fellow countrymen from Lublin: Klaudia, Ola i Maciek, who gave me company, invited to a dinner and much more.
Thank you

Norway

For some time been pushing through Norway. Landed in Kristiansand on sunny afternoon, where at ferry arrival the docking gate refused to cooperate and all vehicles were forced to reverse to reach over the ramp lower deck. Just imagine reversing on the ferry with your camp trailer. At that time I followed Joachim, young Dutchman who was on his way to meet his girlfriend. His qualified as a paramedic and he hopes to work as permanent member of an ambulance crew.
That was Kristiansand, then next day I carried on through rural Norway. My path suddenly disappeared at some farm, where local farmer at the second approach rightly directed me through the gate with horses "guard" it. Then local dirt road were so stop that I just simply walked them. At the end was local "camp"a like farm where after friendly chat with host moving up and down on his quad bike, I managed to have a small picnic. That takes a biscuit, down from the picnic area was a jetty, where I swam in the lake . Marvellous :-)

PS. I upload some photos later on.

First day in Denmark

Well hello, while the battery last I scribble something. What a change  after last night rough camp somewhere in the forest time for a shower and WiFi etc.
Denmark , the first person whom I met was a couch who organised mini youth triathlon and then I chat with Marcel, who was struggling on his sister's bike to catch up with the rest.
Then, as I push through the day in this scorching, noticed well displayed info board of local area. Inspired by the idea of having a warm shower and a chance to swim in the sea , I could not resist any more.

We , me and my friend , set off on Wednesday around 9pm to Harwich. On day 0, we cycled trough central London, then we follow a canal and had managed to find even grassland to set up our tents.
On day 01, mainly we follow route 1 of NCN (National Cycling Network) done good millage and then and then at the end of day 01, we found some interesting geocache.
Today , on day 02 we reached Harwich where we part our ways, as my friend cycled back to London.

Thank you, my amigo.
